If contracting with a hauler right now is not an option, here are some drop off locations for you to consider.

Accepted items:
They accept office paper, newspaper, cardboard, water bottles, cardboard, plastic jugs like milk jugs, and aluminum soda bottles. No glass and no metals (including soda cans).

Drop-off notes:
Items will need to be separated. Please go in and ask for a weight ticket/proof for dropping off recyclables (if you are applying for ReWorksSA Certification).

National Steel Recycling accepts all metals (including aluminum cans).

Recommunity Recycling Center accepts newspaper, envelopes, junk mail, phone books, brochures, magazines, aluminum/metal cans, food cans, ream wrappers, file folders, poster board, frozen food boxes, milk cartons, glass, plastic water bottles, plastic take-out containers, plastic soda bottles but does not pay for cardboard, milk jugs and aluminum cans. The items they accept and pay for are: electronics (excluding TV and computer monitors), appliances (excluding microwaves), steel roofing and siding, window and door frames, rebar, and metal fencing.

Texas Disposal Systems (TDS)

Accepted items:
TDS accepts the normal recyclables like paper, plastic bottles, flattened cardboard, junk mail, magazines, aluminum cans, glass (beverage bottles and glass jars). No Styrofoam or plastic bags will be accepted.

Drop-off notes:
TDS allows people to stop by and drop off their recyclables for free. Look for a small building (it is called the Scale House) with ramps on either side. To help you carry the items you want to recycle you can place them in a bag, but once there you will be directed to empty the bag. Please ask for a weight ticket/proof for dropping off recyclables (if you are applying for ReWorksSA Certification).

Great Northwest Recycling accepts but does not pay for cardboard, milk jugs, and aluminum cans. The items they accept and pay for are: electronics (excluding TV and computer monitors), appliances (excluding microwaves), steel roofing and siding, window and door frames, rebar, and metal fencing.

Leon Valley Public Works accepts cardboard and plastic bags. You can also drop off used oil.

Drop-off notes:
This location has two big green recycling containers from Tiger Sanitation that are placed outside the fenced area from Public Works. You will have to drive into the Leon Valley Library parking lot (construction on main road) and maneuver your way to the area in the very back where Public Works is located. They do not provide weight tickets.

Longhorn Recycling Center

Longhorn Recycling accepts aluminum cans, metals, brass, and copper. Longhorn Recycling does not accept computer monitors, TVs, keyboards, printers, and fax machines.

Accepted items:
Waste Management accepts common paper, magazines, cardboard, plastic bottles, aluminum cans, tin cans and glass, such as glass bottles and jars in colors such as green, blue, or brown (no stained glass, mirrors, or light bulbs). They do not accept wood or electronics.

Drop-off notes:
The drop-off location has a big rectangle container with several compartments outside its main building so you can place the items in it by the material type. They will issue a weight ticket (if you are applying for ReWorksSA Certification). In order to get a weight ticket you will be required to place your recyclables in a bag/s in your vehicle and drive over the weight scale twice to capture the weight (with and without the materials). One bag or light weight recyclables typically do not register on the scales.
